Into the well lit room I entered,
\n Which light did pierce my eyes.
\nSquinting, I felt too exposed, to well seen,
\n So I set ou to find the darkness-switch.<\/p>\n
Yes, I looked and searched for the switch,
\n To turn the darkness on, maybe just a bit.
\nBut to my dismay, no such switch was found.
\n Only one to dim the light.<\/p>\n
At that moment, I understood,
\n Darkness could not be turned on, not at all.
\nThe only way to soften the billiance and hide the flaws,
\n Was to dim the light!<\/p>\n
Yes, as I dimmed the light to shield the rays,
\n In direct proportion the darkness came.
\nFirst, just a little turn of the switch,
\n Than my eys edjusted…yet another turn!<\/p>\n
Soon I was totally adjusted to the darkness,
\n And comfortable in my shadows.
\nNo longer could others see my faults,
\n No longer could I see their needs.<\/p>\n
I knew if I continued to turn the switch,
\n Total darkness would soon fill the room.
\nAnd I became scared and felt alone,
\n And found I missed the light.<\/p>\n
Turning the switch back, the light began to pour in,
\n In direct proportion the darkness fled.
\nOh, how good it felt to bask in the glow once again,
\n And see clearly what I should be.<\/p>\n
Yes, the only way to darkness is to dim the light.<\/p>\n
