A Hot August \u201cNight\u201d

It was a hot August night, on the 21st day,
\nAbout 1:00 in the afternoon, Central Standard Time;
\nThe world became crazy! What else can I say?
\nThe traffic and crowds! Without reason or rhyme!<\/p>\n
Everyone was in motion, looking to the skies,
\nTo find the perfect spot, be it a field or a park;
\nWe all bought dark shades, (we looked like spies),
\nWaiting to catch a glimpse, to see the sun go dark!<\/p>\n
After months of planning, after many an anxious day,
\nWe all went crazy! We all were like sheep!
\nWe couldn\u2019t wait to see what? The wonderful sun go away?
\nThe poor birds didn\u2019t know, should they wake or go to sleep?<\/p>\n
Yet in the heat of the day, we indeed saw night,
\nAnd the moon crept up, and the street lights came on;
\nIt was weird and odd, but it was a wondrous sight,
\nWhen day became night, and there broke a second dawn!<\/p>\n
It was a hot August night, on the 21st day,
\nAbout 1:00 in the afternoon, Central Standard Time;
\nYou can only see it once, or so they say,
